Hearts of Gold's joy-filled video attracted the attention of the American Scottish Foundation and Lisa was invited to represent Scottish youth music at the New York Tartan Week 2018 official opening ceremony and parade.

In 2018, Lisa was awarded as a top six finalist in the new Salute UK Musicmaker Award, playing a finalist's hometown gig at King Tuts and releasing the selected song "I do" as a single. Later that year, she was delighted to be invited to showcase by iconic Scottish folk artist Dougie MacLean at his Perthshire Amber Festival.
Scottish singer-songwriter Lisa Kowalski has built quite a name for herself since starting out as a musician at age 14. As a singer, her voice is described as mellifluous and emotive and as a songwriter, she has achieved a number of industry awards and nominations.

Lisa first released music to the world in 2017 in the form of her Free Spirits EP, songs written aged 14 to 16, which reflected her teenage experiences growing up in her home town of Paisley. This included the hometown tribute Hearts of Gold, which featured heavily in Paisley's UK City of Culture bid of the same year.
After a sort break in 2019, the young musician has continued to flourish as a solo acoustic artist and is expanding her repertoire by learning new instruments, self-producing and trying new sounds. All of this is evident in her latest single No More Time, released on 31 January 2020. A punchy, alt-rock song about breaking out of a toxic situation. Lisa has also been granted funding to write another song and record a video about her hometown and work on this project is under way.

New song-writing ideas and influences will no doubt come from Lisa’s current residence in the Netherlands as part of her University’s music exchange programme. She will return to New York Tartan Week 2020 to perform.

On return to Scotland in the summer, she looks forward to working with other musicians and work on the release of a fresh batch of her honest, emotive, life-inspired songs.
